2. Purpose and Functionality of the Browser Extension
The ShopCop extension enables the display of product and price information from Preisvergleich Internet Services AG, Rothschildplatz 3, 1050 Vienna, Austria (hereinafter referred to as "Geizhals") directly in the browser.
The browser extension processes data exclusively to the extent necessary for technical provision, troubleshooting, and abuse prevention.
There is no evaluation for advertising or tracking purposes and no profiling of user behavior.
All analyses take place locally on the end device; no cookies are set and no external tracking services are used.
When retrieving price or product information via the Geizhals interface, certain technical data is automatically transmitted to Geizhals by your browser, in particular:
- IP address, browser type and version, operating system, time of access,
- if applicable, product or search queries as well as region that lead to the display of Geizhals data.
This processing serves the technical provision of price comparison data as well as the correct assignment of clicks or partner IDs. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest in an economical, functional and user-friendly presentation of price comparisons).
Geizhals processes the transmitted data in its own responsibility within the meaning of Art. 4 No. 7 GDPR for its own purposes (e.g. operation of the price comparison platform, reach measurement).
There is no joint controllership within the meaning of Art. 26 GDPR. ShopCop and Geizhals each act as independent controllers who, on the basis of the cooperation agreement existing between us, merely support each other in fulfilling data protection obligations (Art. 12 ff. GDPR).
Further information on data processing by Geizhals can be found in their privacy policy at https://unternehmen.geizhals.at/datenschutzerklaerung/
To provide product and price information, the extension analyzes locally (client-side) the respective website for potential product data (e.g. product names or prices). This information is transmitted in technically necessary, pseudonymized form to the price comparison API of Geizhals to determine and return suitable offers.
In rare cases, it may technically occur that other text content of a page is incorrectly recognized as product data. ShopCop does not carry out any further evaluation or storage of this content.

No data is processed for advertising, tracking or analysis purposes. Processing based on your consent therefore does not take place, as ShopCop does not use optional convenience or marketing functions.
5. Recipients and Disclosure of Data
Internet Services AG
Rothschildplatz 3, 1050 Vienna, Austria ("Geizhals")
The extension retrieves product and price information via interfaces from Geizhals. Data such as (e.g. product name and region) is transmitted to Geizhals to display the price comparison. Clicks or redirects from users to products run via "redirect" links of the Geizhals website, where the authenticity of genuine redirects is verified before the user lands on the final product page. This is done to enable the billing of referral commissions.
Geizhals processes this data in its own responsibility according to Art. 4 No. 7 GDPR for the operation and billing of its price comparison platform.
There is no joint controllership within the meaning of Art. 26 GDPR.
Further information can be found in Geizhals' privacy policy at: https://unternehmen.geizhals.at/datenschutzerklaerung/
When you click on an offer in the extension, you will be redirected directly to the respective partner network or online shop. From this point on, the privacy policy of the respective provider applies.
Technical Service Providers
External technical service providers (e.g. hosting, server or maintenance providers) process data within the framework of commissioned processing according to Art. 28 GDPR on the basis of corresponding contracts.
No disclosure to other third parties or to recipients in third countries takes place.
Monetization
ShopCop can earn a commission through clicks and purchases of offers opened via the browser extension. These are referral links. Monetary compensation is provided through Geizhals. This does not affect the displayed price of offers for users of the browser extension.
6. Data Transfer to Third Countries
Processing takes place exclusively within the European Union. Geizhals is based in Austria; the GDPR applies directly there. No data is transmitted to recipients outside the EU or EEA.
Should a transfer to third countries become necessary in the future, this will only take place in compliance with legal requirements, in particular on the basis of EU standard contractual clauses or other suitable guarantees according to Art. 44 ff. GDPR.
7. Technical and Organizational Measures (TOMs)
We protect your data through appropriate measures according to Art. 32 GDPR, in particular:
- Access restrictions and role management
- Pseudonymization of stored identifiers
- regular security and function updates
- Logging and prompt deletion of access and error data

The extension was developed according to the principle of Privacy by Design and by Default (Art. 25 GDPR):

- local data processing on the end device
- minimal data transmission to servers
- pseudonymous identifiers instead of user accounts
9. Storage Period and Deletion
Personal or pseudonymous data is only stored for as long as is necessary for the respective purpose.
The specific storage periods result from the overview in Section 3. After the respective periods have expired, the data will be deleted or anonymized.
10. Voluntariness and Uninstallation
The provision of your data is voluntary. However, without the technically required information, the extension cannot function correctly.
You can end the processing at any time by uninstalling the extension.
